Day 11: Song that Makes Me Think of Summer

For day #11 of the Vocalo Challenge, here is a song that reminds me of summer:

The great guitar riff, the hand claps, and the funky beat of Janelle Monae’s “Screwed” really sound like summer to me. The lyrics have the most uplifting bent on nihilism that you’ll ever hear. This song is also on my running playlist, so I strongly associate it with nicer weather.

If you haven’t seen it, I strongly suggest the longer form “emotion picture” Janelle made for her Dirty Computer album. .

Wed May 6: Song from the last concert I went to
Thurs May 7: Song from my favorite artist
Fri May 8: Song with incredible lyrics
Sat May 9: Song that defined 2019

It’s helpful for me to put the dates, because it reminds me what-in-sam-hell day it is.
